An example of designers can be viewed on guide to designer dresses, this is not an exhaustive list, just some suggestions, there are many more designers. If you are unsure if your dress is a designer dress then contact us with details and we will let you know. High Street and Designers for High Street are not included such as Karen Millen, Coast, Reiss or Matthew Williamson for Debenhams
Are the dresses authentic designer dresses
All members who place their dress for hire on the site must agree to the authenticity under the terms and conditions of membership. If you when you receive the dress you are doubtful to the authenticity please contact us immediately before wear @ customerservice@dresseduptothe9s.com. If it is not authentic it will be collected the same day and the owner will be liable for the courier charge and review of their membership.
What condition are the dresses’ in that are on the site for hire
All dresses that are hired out on the site from the owners should be hired out in ‘As New’ condition and be dry cleaned prior to hiring out on each occasion. If you receive a dress with damage or abnormal wear or tear please contact us immediately @ customerservice@dresseduptothe9s.com.
What if the dress does not fit when it arrives
Every effort to ensure a fit has been made giving all relevant measurements for you to check against your own measurements before hiring. However we appreciate that sometimes once tried on the fit may not be right for you. If you notify us within 4 hours of receipt of the dress and we arrange collection that day only the applicable courier charge will be charged and the hire cost refunded.
What is the one occasion hire period for a dress
The standard hire period for one occasion hire is 7 days. This includes delivery of the dress 1 day prior to day required for wear, wear of dress on one occasion and 5 days allowance for dry cleaning and collection by courier on day 7.
Do I need to send to a specialist dry cleaners or can I use my local dry cleaners
All reputable dry cleaners can be used that can clean the dress to the dry cleaning instructions on the dress label. Please verify that they can clean according to the instructions.
What if specialist dry cleaning is required and a longer period of 5 days is needed
We appreciate that some dresses with beading etc require specialist Hydro Carbon cleaning that may not be carried out on site. Please notify us immediately of the dry cleaning period quoted and the dry cleaning receipt as proof so that the courier can be re arranged and any additional charges avoided.
What if I fail to have the dress collected on the 7th day
If when the courier arrives he is unable to collect the dress and no prior notification has been received an additional daily charge will be applicable to you until the dress is collected.
What if the dress is damaged during hire
We expect our members to care for the dresses as their own and return the dress in the same condition as hired. However, we do appreciate that accidents do happen. If the dress is damaged please inform us as soon as possible @ customerservice@dresseduptothe9s.com. If the dress is repairable you will be liable for the repair charge. If it is not repairable you will be liable for the replacement of the dress or equal value.
How will I know if the dress is available
When you view the dress details there is a calendar which shows dates available for hire. Once you hire a dress these specific dates will be shown as unavailable.
If I have put my dress on the site for hire and specified how many times I wish to hire out the dress but change my mind what do I need to do
When you enter your details and dress for hire you specify how many times you would like to hire out the dress. If you wish to change this at any time please notify us @ customerservice@dresseduptothe9s.com. If the dress has already been ordered for hire we will need to honour these hire dates.
How will I know when my dress is hired out
We will notify you when your dress is hired out and arrange courier collection and delivery back to you.
What is the 15% management site fee
This is the fee we take off the hire charge paid to the owner for managing the hire and running of the site.
Is it safe to use my credit card for online payment
Yes, paying by credit card through Secure Trading is a simple and safer way for payment transactions. Secure Trading are fully accredited as a Level 1 compliant provider, the highest level of compliance under the Payment Card Identity Data Security Standard giving you peace of mind.
How does the delivery and collection service work
Prior to the dress hire we will contact the member who is the dress owner to organise a collection time day before hire required and also a return delivery 7 days later. We will also contact the member hiring the dress to confirm a delivery time the day before occasion hire is required and collection 7 days later.
What if my dress is lost or damaged beyond repair
Should the hirer of your dress damage the dress beyond repair or lose the dress then they will be liable for the replacement of the dress or equal value.
Can I buy the dress if I love it
The dresses belong to our individual members, if you would like us to put an offer to the member who owns the dress we will forward this offer for the members consideration
What are the benefits of hiring
Hiring allows a greater choice of fabulous designer dresses at a fraction of the price to wear for lots of different occasions. Wear a different dress at each one, rather than splashing out on a designer dress that can only be worn on a few occasions and ends up being pushed to the back of the wardrobe because its been seen more than once! In these times of recession, hiring is the savvy answer.
What happens to the personal information I provide
Under the Terms and Conditions of membership we guarantee privacy of personal information which will not be shared without prior approval. You can opt out to have no email updates or news or offers sent to your email address, just tick the box for opt out. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information
When is the payment taken from my credit card
Payment is taken as soon as you check out and confirm payment via secure trading. Dependant on your bank it may take one or two days to show on your statement.
When will I receive the money for the hire price of my dress when hired out
If your dress is hired out we will make a payment by cheque at the end of the calendar month the dress is hired out in. A cheque less the 15% management fee, courier and insurance charges will be sent to your home address provided on your membership details and in your name unless otherwise advised. If you would prefer payment by bank transfer we can arrange this but as we will not be holding your personal bank details you will need to call us on 07540 565822 to advise us of your bank account details to make the payment.
Can I cancel a hire order once I have paid
Providing 24 hours notice is given for cancellation prior to hire you can cancel your hire order and your payment will be refunded less any transaction charges.
Can I hire more than one dress
Yes, once you have hired one dress you can add to your basket and continue to shop to hire additional dresses, once you have finished your shopping hire you can proceed to check out to pay for all of your hires’.
Can I hire for more than one occasion
Yes, if you want to hire a dress for consecutive occasions please send us an email with the details of the dress you wish to hire and the period of hire through the Contact Us link and we will come back to you to confirm availability and price
Can I change the delivery address once ordered
Yes, provided 24 hours notice is given you can change the location for delivery of the dress by calling us on 07540 565822 or sending us an email through the Contact Us link

How do I update my details
Each time you log in the screen will offer an Edit details option, click on this to update any details and submit to us. We will update your details to reflect the changes you send us.
What if I have forgotten my membership no. and/or password
Simply click on the link 'Forgot your details?' and submit, we will send you an email confirming your password and membership no.
What is the benefit of membership
You will have access to hire other members dresses, updates on new arrivals and ability to upload your own dresses to hire out to other members and membership is free.
Do I have to pay to become a member
No, membership is absolutely free, it’s simple to join. Just fill in your details and we will send you a membership number for you to use when using the site
Can I cancel my membership if I no longer wish to use the site
Yes, please send us an email through the Contact Us link and we will cancel your membership and remove your details from our database
